What’s Next for Bloomfield?

Development of a new Next store is underway at Bloomfield Shopping Centre, Bangor, heralding a £1million+ investment and the creation of further job opportunities in what is already the area’s largest source of private sector employment.

The huge new shop will be created by extending and reconfiguring the former Hanna & Browne unit in a prestige position at the front of the Centre. Ladies, men’s and kids fashion departments will be combined with a home ware section and the addition of a Ground Espresso Bar will bolster Bloomfield’s already extensive food offering.

Building work has commenced with the new store scheduled to open in April 2016.

Lucy Elliott from Colliers International (managing agents for Bloomfield) said, “We are delighted that Next is returning to Bloomfield. Their announcement to open a new store demonstrates their confidence in the Centre as a retail destination and reflects prevailing trends throughout their portfolio both in Northern Ireland and the rest of UK where Next are ‘rightsizing’ and repositioning their stores to meet evolving consumer demands”.

A Next Spokesperson said: “We¹re very happy to be opening a new store in Bangor! It¹s going to bring a whole new dimension of shopping to the area and give customers a bigger variety of Next products”..
